meet our staff
Kathleen Pitrola
Kathleen has been employed with ACAH for a little over two years. You might see her speeding about the floor plan quickly unpacking boxes of hospital supplies in between appointments or intaking some of our Second Chance Rescue Cats for routine spay/neuter procedures. Kathleen attended the Veterinary Technology program at LaGuardia Community College and received most of her training in New York City working at the Humane Society of New York. Kathleen has also been an instructor and tutor for college courses including Intro to Veterinary Technology, Biological Chemistry and Veterinary Nursing.
Kathleen's first experiences as a technician began with treating strays she and her family would stumble upon in their neighborhood on the west side of Buffalo. It was not uncommon to find a crow named Herby with a splint or a cat named Fluffy with a bandage. Eventually, these homeless creatures became family pets.
Kathleen attended Buffalo State
College in pursuit of a career in the arts. After graduating with a B.A.
in Theatre, she moved to New York City and lived there until 2005, participating
in many stage productions. Her family, with a yard for her dogs and more
space for her cats, called her back to Buffalo and now Kathleen has found
the means to stage her own production. It's a great feeling and privilege
to be happy going to work each day at All Creatures.
Mary Nuhn
Mary’s unexpected journey into the Animal World began when she read an article about BrightStar German Shephard Rescue in the local Lockport newspaper called “The Union Sun and Journal.” She had no idea that involving herself with this group would open doors to many valuable experiences. Fostering many german shepherds’ through this rescue group inspired her to function as the Home Check Coordinator and Senior to Senior coordinator for BrightStar Rescue. Mary felt emotionally attached to two of her fosters and decided to make them permanent additions to her family Her only family dog at the time, Gracie would not be alone anymore. Max and Raven would be keeping her company all day long. Mary had been working as a vet receptionist at ACAH since June 2006 but eventually crossed over to becoming a vet assistant. Aside from her very important role at ACAH, her caretaking ability did not stop there as she is a proud mom to 3 boys (Zachary, Dylan and Adam) and wife to Howard. She is currently the president of the PTA at Washington Hunt in Lockport and holds an associates degree from ECC.
Anne Mangion
Anne became an animal lover at the age of 12 when she got her first pets- hamsters named Ethyl & Lucy (who later became Fred after Ethyl had babies!). A few years later, she got her first cat, Sid, and she knew she would never be without a cat again. After earning her bachelor's degree in Fashion Technology from Buffalo State College, Anne quickly realized that fashion was not her true calling and after months of soul-searching, and watching a lot of animal planet, she realized she wanted to work with animals. She soon applied to Medaille College for the Veterinary Technology program, and graduated two years later. In 2007, she became a licensed veterinary technician and soon began her work at All Creatures Animal Hospital. In her spare time, Anne enjoys knitting, sewing, and spending time with her two cats Ruby and Holly, and her two rats.
Amy Albert
Amy Albert graduated from Medaille
College in 1993 with a Veterinary Technology degree. She worked full-time
as a licensed veterinary technician until going back to school to become
a Physician Assisant, in 1999. She was instrumental in the opening of All
Creatures Animal Hospital and has been the Office Manager since that time.
She also assists Dr. Albert with primate medicine. Amy graduated from Daemen
College 2004 with a B.S. in Health Sciences and an M.S. in Physician Assistant
Studies. She also currently works full-time as a Physician Assistant in
Interventional Radiology.
Sara Dillon
I am thrilled to be working here at All Creatures Animal Hospital. The diversity of animals we see make each day interesting and informative. Although I have been working as a veterianary receptionist for over 5 years, I still find myself learning something new nearly every day. The clients devotion to their pets and funny stories about them fill our days with smiles and laughs, and on the occasions that I meet our clients out about town, it always seems I remember their pets names, not the persons!! All Creatures is a fun and rewarding place to work with the satisfaction of knowing we have helped people give their pets the best possible care they can.
Jenn Kishbaugh
Jenn is one of our newest additions to the All Creatures Team. When she’s not greeting our clients with a smile and patting their pets on the head, as a veterinary receptionist, she is focused on her other life goals which include attending class at Buffalo State college and volunteering at the Aquarium of Niagara. She is currently studying Biology, Psychology and Animal Behavior and plans to continue her education by attending veterinary school in 2010. Her decision to become a veterinarian began as a young girl of 8 being the primary caregiver to a very needy hamster named Critter. Her love of animals did not stop there! It was the beginning of her passion for exotics. Presently, a ball python named Kreacher , two Mexican axolotls, birds, dogs, rabbits and fish keep her busy at home. Other hobbies include scuba diving, Bikram yoga and bike riding.
Brittaney West
The ocean waters will one day be inhabited by our most recently hired technician, Brittaney West, who has dreams of becoming a marine biologist. As a young girl, Brittaney spent a portion of her time pursuing world issues by trying to convince Al Gore to do something about the tragic act of whaling. She was recognized almost immediately when she received a letter acknowledging how important it was that she expressed her concern about the inhumane trials of the world. That was one of the first steps in creating this new talent and how she can make a difference. She is currently feeling most excited by fostering young homeless kittens, working part-time at the Emergency Clinic and adding more dreams to her list. Brittnay has completed internships with the Buffalo Zoo, Niagara Falls Aquarium and the Hamburg Animal Clinic and looks forward to fine tuning her exotic expertise with All Creatures Animal Hospital.
