Guinea Pig Weigh In!

Which parakeet is real?

This is a GIANT dog named Heidi. She's a Bright Star German Shepard rescue.

If you don't know his story, I have had Saye since he was seven weeks old. He is the third Shepherd I've raised and I think I knew from the first that something was wrong. He has always been afraid of children and the basement stairs... He made his first aggressive moves on the Vet at his old clinic when he was only a few months old. He was, without a doubt, the smartest puppy in his three rounds of training but, by the third set, he was lunging and barking at all the weaker dogs. I had him neutered when he was full grown to protect his hips and other bones. That didn'thelp. When he lunged at the vet when he was around two, she suggested in no uncertain terms, that I have him destroyed.

Devastated, and sobbing I got in touch with Bright Star. Thank God Mary was there and knew Saye from the countless hours we had spent trying to socialize him. They were incredible and supportive and referred me to All Creatures, specifically Dr. Albert. HE did the correct blood work and found my baby had a thyroid problem. I now understand that thyroid disorders are a leading cause of aggression in dogs. Saye was put on thyroid replacement and Fluoxetine and referred to Miranda Workman. Miranda is an angel and I learned more from her in an hour than I had in the last two years of dealing with Saye's behavior. She pointed out that he had never actually bitten anyone and probably never intended to do so. She guessed, probably correctly, that he had learned to use his lunging as a way of getting rid of the person, animal or thing that he was afraid of. With that in mind, we worked with him to desensitize him and give him some alternative strategies.

Today, he is hardly angelic but he behaves more like a German Shepherd every day. I am so proud of him I could cry at every milestone. Recently, even having just had his dose of Fluoxetine cut in half, he was able to cope with four other dogs over four days in his house, playing with his toys, without one outburst.

As far as I am concerned, my big, beautiful doofus owes his life to Dr. Albert, Mary, and the incredibly patient and caring staff of All
Creatures. We have a great debt to Bright Star and Miranda Workman. I am so grateful to them all.

Laurel Cossitt and Saye

Joey is about a year and half old. He was adopted through Second Chance of Niagara. He is a very playful cat and he loves his older sister (Greyhound) Roxie's tail - he thinks it's one of his toys!

Roxie is 6 years old. She was
adopted through Buffalo Greyhound Adoption. She was at a race track in Iowa. She failed her track test and never raced (she is very smart). She has adjusted very well to her pet life.

Here are the 3 pet Rats I own/ed. Charlie (albino) and Joey (all brown) have since passed away very recently but still in my heart. Now I have Stan the Man (brown + white) who has been waiting for a new little rattty to bound, wrestle and play with. After the Holidays he will have a new best friend!!

Ashley Rose

Here's a great pic of Bella - she's an 11 1/2 year old Chow and one of
Dr. Albert's favorites!

This is Ignatius Iguanagus and I call him Igna for short. He is 4 feet 10 inches long and I figure 6 years old.

Florence, Boston, and Tacoma

Starr, one of my beloved Cocker Spaniels, while nursing her puppies,
developed a very low calcium level, and almost died. All Creatures Animal
Hospital saved her life, and I will be forever grateful! The veterinarians and office staff are absolutely wonderful!

Our rabbit, Scooch Totin, playing in the snow!

Our sassy Stella, the Golden Doodle @ age 1

Our first visit to you was with our Senegal Kito and our Parrotlet Tupi and both had A+ check-ups. I just brought in our GCC Chico who I thought had a problem with his beak and back nail but he checked out well also! Here are some pictures of our babies. Thanks to all at All Creatures!

Bed hogs! Bella and JJ are now seen by Dr. Albert and Dr. Allen in N. Buffalo.

My dog Boris is a patient at the clinic (and will be). He turned very ill this past Feb. Dr. Albert, Dr. Allen, and the staff have been very helpful to Boris' needs as well as his paranoid owner..."me!"

Here is Yankee Doodle and Freedom Luther.
We named them that because we are the All-American family. Our Marine son Matt has been back and forth to Iraq, has been wounded in combat, etc. Yankee Doodle and Freedom are very well-loved and are now 2 years old. This is a picture on their 1st Birthday! This is typical of their personalities - Freedom eats everything and Yankee Doodle tells us! Dr. Jim knows us well! He has been a wonderful support with Yankee having renal dysplasia.

These dogs are a rare breed called a Bergamasco Sheepdog. They originate in Italy and are known as the "Shepherd of the Alps." Luciano is 3 and Marzio is 2. They are happy, affectionate and intelligent dogs.

Miley (black) is 7 months old and loves to play with twst ties and rubber bands! She is crazy hyper and loves to try and attack the fishies and my older cat.

Boo (tan) is 7 years old and loves to chill. She is my favorite cuddle buddy and loves to sleep under the covers with me. Of course she loves the fishies too.

Arnold is an 8YO bullmastiff who has been a patient of Dr. Albert's since his practice opened, and prior to that at another hospital. He has had many challenges with his thyroid and with allergies and some non-cancerous tumors. The care and compassion from the staff and Vets at this hospital are truly amazing. I can only thank all of you for going above and beyond in your care for my angel, Arnold.
